Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Acute care facility experience: Preferred
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required
• At least two years recent experience in the field

Responsibilities

• Delivers coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment.
• Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation and analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develops and implements care plans and evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing safe and effective patient care.
• Provides education and support to patients and families.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
