Senior Attorney: Compensation and Benefits

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney specializing in Compensation and Benefits to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans, including ERISA compliance and related regulatory matters. Duties Advise on plan design, administration, and compliance with ERISA. Counsel on benefit plan issues in mergers and acquisitions. Draft plan documents and disclosures. Conduct compliance testing and manage IRS and Department of Labor filings. Handle audits and correction matters. Requirements Minimum of 6 years of relevant legal experience. Experience with ESOP transactions and ERISA plan asset rules is a plus. Excellent academic credentials. Superior writing, oral communication, and analytical skills. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Bar admission in the state of Illinois. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
