About the Position of Automotive Mechanic Mavis’s leaders in undercar repairs trust their Automotive Mechanics to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers’ vehicles. Mechanics perform undercar repairs—including brakes, struts, and shocks—as well as state‑mandated inspections, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, part replacements, and tire dismounting, mounting, rotation, and balancing. Qualifications Legal authority to work in the United States. Minimum 18 years of age. At least 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or comparable education, training, and experience. Extensive personal tools for undercar repairs. Preferred: state inspection license(s). Preferred: ASE Certification in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
