Job Specification Practice Groups: Consumer, Telco, & Technology (CTT) & Performance Transformation (PT) Locations: Boston, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Washington, DC, San Francisco Role: Teleco + Quotient -AI - Engagement Manager Practice Overview: Consumer, Telco & Technology (CTT) In CTT, we focus on consumer‑facing industries converging through technology. We build partner connections across retailers, telecom, media, and services to elevate our narratives and maintain deep sector expertise. Telco Oliver Wyman helps players in the converged communications industry—fixed‑line operators, Internet service providers, cable TV operators, mobile and wholesale operators, and private equity groups—to develop value growth strategies, improve offers, and maximize organizational effectiveness. Quotient – AI With Quotient‑AI by Oliver Wyman, we combine AI implementation, deployment, and strategic advisory with industry expertise to deliver real value beyond the hype. Role Engagement Managers are critical leaders within our consulting team, working side‑by‑side with clients. Responsibilities include: Providing day‑to‑day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process. Leading and managing complex programs to ensure on‑time delivery that meets agreed goals. Guiding and influencing clients in informed ways across all situations, including commercial process execution. Building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities. Creating intellectual capital through thought leadership and knowledge on adjacent topics. Developing others and building a followership to support firm asset building. Leading firm‑building activities, model firm values, and building a strong personal brand. Overseeing consulting teams through hypothesis development, client interview insights, and deliverable production. Supporting Partners in project execution through project management, workflow, and coaching of junior staff. Desired Skills and Experience 4‑7 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting with a top‑tier firm. Track record of leading and managing teams, delivering results in fast‑paced environments. Strong background in strategic problem‑solving and analytical skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Quantitative toolkit, including proficiency in SQL and Python. Machine learning, data science, AI/GenAI capabilities preferred. Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program. Client management experience. Passion for creative process and expansive thinking. Analytical rigor in uncovering insights. Facilitation, presentation, and communication excellence. Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities. Impeccable judgment and timely decision‑making ability. Humility and confidence, seeking truth via inquiry. Highly motivated and committed to excellence. Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally. Compensation and Benefits Base salary 225,000‑240,000 USD. Additional performance incentives and a competitive total rewards package including health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401(k) savings, and employee assistance programs.
