Your Challenge

• Can you take a CNC or Swiss lathe from zero to stable production—selecting tooling and workholding, loading programs, setting offsets, and validating the first piece?
• Will you maintain tight tolerances through the run using micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, and rigorous in‑process checks?
• When chatter appears or a bore drifts, do you diagnose root causes—feeds/speeds, fixturing, setup, or machine behavior—and implement fixes fast?
• Are you comfortable running multiple machines, tracking cycle times, and keeping schedules intact—while documenting setups, downtime, and output?
• Do you share what you know—coaching Machinist I teammates and apprentices—and communicate clearly with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supervisors?

What Success Looks Like

• Attendance at 98% or higher and daily goal attainment at 90% or better.
• Scrap held to 2% or less, with setup times meeting or beating standard.
• High machine utilization and low avoidable downtime.
• Consistent delivery of in‑spec parts, minimal rework, and visible leadership in problem solving.

Must-Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 3+ years of machining or CNC experience, or equivalent capability
• Independent CNC setup and operation skills
• Strong blueprint reading with GD&T fluency
• Proficiency using precision inspection tools
• Dependable attendance and punctuality

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers
• CAM or program editing exposure
• Background in high‑mix, tight‑tolerance work
• Vocational/technical machining education

How You’ll Work

• Follow all safety procedures, PPE, and machine guarding requirements.
• Keep your area organized and support 5S and workplace organization.
• Stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions; work around noise, coolant, and moving machinery.

Tools, Tech, and Proficiencies

Be fluent in:

• G-Code
• M-Code
• CNC Machine Setup & Changeover

On equipment such as:

• CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Mazak, Haas, Okuma)
• CNC Swiss Lathe (Tsugami)
• CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Mazak, Okuma, Dmg Mori Seiki)
