Human Resource Manager

Location: Fall River Health Services - Hot Springs, SD

Schedule: Monday - Friday 40 hours a week.


Fall River Health Services is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead our Human Resources department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on HR operations. The successful candidate will oversee recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce development while helping create a positive and engaging workplace culture.
What You'll Do

• Lead all Human Resources operations and supervise HR department staff.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional healthcare professionals and support staff.
• Manage employee relations, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations.
• Oversee employee benefits administration, including enrollments, open enrollment, COBRA, and billing reconciliation.
• Administer FMLA, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and employee leave programs.
• Maintain I-9 compliance and employee personnel records.
• Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring payroll accuracy and timely processing.
• Coordinate year-end payroll reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
• Monitor employee evaluations, compensation adjustments, and salary administration.
• Complete annual compensation surveys and retirement plan reporting.
• Oversee quarterly CMS Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) reporting.
• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
• Coordinate employee training, compliance education, and professional development programs.
• Partner with organizational leaders to support employee engagement and organizational success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of Human Resources experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Healthcare Human Resources experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, payroll, benefits administration, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA, workers' compensation, and HR compliance.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
