Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions across its construction, land development, and commercial property operations. This role will be heavily involved in month-end close, financial analysis, reconciliations, budgeting support, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

* Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple entities

* Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and variance investigations to ensure accurate financial reporting

* Support general ledger accounting and maintain the integrity of financial records

* Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, job costing, and cash management activities

* Prepare budget schedules, forecasts, and variance analyses to support operational and financial planning

* Reconcile payroll-related accounts and support payroll accounting activities, including wage, tax, and benefits reconciliations

* Partner with operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reporting for ongoing projects

* Assist with audit preparation, tax support, and insurance reporting by preparing schedules and supporting documentation

* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

* 4+ years of progressive accounting experience

* Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

* Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

* Construction, real estate, property management, or project-based accounting experience preferred

* Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

* Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; Sage 300 CRE experience is highly preferred

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
