Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Combination unit in Elko, NV, requiring at least 1 year of experience and current AHA certifications for a 13-week assignment.

Job Details

• Acute care Med/Surg Combination unit in a hospital setting,
• Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients,
• Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic and general surgery, and acute respiratory failure in both adult and pediatric patients,
• 23-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio,
• Equipment includes Omnicell medication dispensers, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and a GE telemetry monitoring system,
• EMR: MEDHOST,
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and departmental needs,

Job Requirements

• Active NV RN license required,
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required,
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued); ACLS must be obtained within 60 days and PALS within 90 days of start date if not currently held,
• Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate,
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration,
• Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred,

• Provides nursing care across a combined med/surg, telemetry, and pediatrics environment,
• No mandatory scrub color - any color scrubs are acceptable,
• On-site fit testing is available for travelers,
• Weekly orientations are available,
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months,
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment,
• Local candidates are accepted provided they meet the 60-mile radius requirement
