Description
The Admissions Counselor position involves independent, complex, and highly specialized clerical work and reports directly to the Associate Director of Enrollment Services. The Admissions Counselor provides comprehensive support and detailed information about admission and registration processes to prospective and current students, parents, the general public, and faculty and staff via in-person, phone, text and email. Examples of Duties
Provide comprehensive support and detailed information about admission and registration processes to prospective and current students, parents, the general public, and faculty and staff via in-person, phone, text and email. Monitor and process assigned daily/weekly reports.
Review admission/readmission status and processes admissions documents such as Residency Declaration, Personal Information Change, Change of Program,
Permission to Release Records, and Request to Prevent Disclosure of Directory Information forms. Order incoming transcripts. Reply to email questions regarding admission and registration processes in the departmental email account. Review and manage student holds.
Review initial Residency Declaration documents for completion and verifies information through Department of Motor Vehicles, State Board of Elections, and other sources as necessary to determine if student is eligible for in-state tuition. Review for accuracy and eligibility documentation submitted by students requesting a residency exemptions or waivers and posts appropriate exemption code.
Evaluate high school and GED transcripts and post developmental education exemption, as appropriate. Evaluate official college/university transcripts. Post/evaluate official test scores for AP, Cambridge AICE, CLEP, 1B, DSST and Excelsior College Exams. Post and evaluate foreign and military credentials, exemption credit by certification and other alternative credit options including industry certification and Tech Prep. Post/evaluate ACT, SAT, and PERT scores.
International student onboarding.
Supervise department's student assistants.
Process residency and/or other application support documents submitted in-person and scan to AppXtender (AppX).
Process online Dynamic Forms for Enrollment Services.
Assist in application process for ordering and verification of high school and college transcripts in Banner.
Assist in the maintenance of general knowledge base for website chatbot responses.
Qualifications
An Associates degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors degree preferred.
