Gas Turbine Performance Engineer

This is an outstanding opportunity for an Engineer with gas turbine engine experience to join the Performance & Operability team. Our gas turbine engines power a wide range of commercial and military aerospace platforms. This position requires the individual to be an expert in steady state and transient physics and to be highly capable of building, debugging, refining, and maintaining NPSS system thermal models. Effective knowledge sharing of NPSS modeling techniques is an important aspect of this role. Operates in a Model Based Systems Environment and experience connecting NPSS models to MBSE tools such as Cameo is desired. The Engineer is responsible for engine definition through all phases of the new product introduction (NPI) processes.

Responsibilities:

Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady state and transient thermal models using NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation)

Develop NPSS customer models

Foster productive knowledge transfer of NPSS modeling techniques

Perform requirements analysis & requirements decomposition

Desired Characteristics:

Expert understanding of gas turbine engine steady state and transient thermodynamics and physics

Highly skilled and experienced with building, debugging, and refining NPSS engine cycle models.
