Schedule : Days Job Type : Full-time, benefits eligible Pay : $30-38/hr MATCOR ,a BrandSafWay subsidiary,is a leading cathodic protection and corrosion prevention company, providing materials and services to global clients for over 40 years. An expert in the field of cathodic protection, MATCOR offers proprietary corrosion protection products, installation, cathodic protection testing, maintenance and complete corrosion protection project management. MATCOR specializes in protecting the infrastructure of oil and gas, electric utility, transportation and water industries. MATCOR is looking for a Corrosion Control Technician to join our Field Services Team within the Engineering Department. Our technicians perform approximately 50 standard corrosion control methods. As a MATCOR technician, you will be trained in each of these methods and your mastery of each method will qualify you for advancement within the company. Key Responsibilities Perform standard testing to evaluate the efficacy of a cathodic protection (CP) system. Perform basic adjustments and repairs on CP systems. Gather data in support of CP and AC mitigation design. Test and troubleshoot CP rectifiers. Compile data in an organized manner for submission to Engineering. Adhere to client and MATCOR safety requirements. Maintain client relationships, with the goal of meeting all customer expectations. Ability to work alone or in a team setting with minimal supervision. Qualifications AMPP CP 1 certification. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred Employees who have completed six (6) months of continuous employment with the company are eligible for the reimbursement of costs associated with approved certification programs, contingent upon successful completion and submission of appropriate documentations – CP2 certification Travel: 75% Must be able to travel and stay near job sites for up to 3 weeks Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking required throughout the day. Frequent stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting required. May be required to lift and pull up to 70 pounds and must be physically capable of performing manual tasks without restriction. Computer-related activities, such as typing and viewing a computer monitor are required. Required to drive/travel to project and client sites. Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions.
