Endoscopy Technician

Unit Notes Profile review with clinical then to manager for a phone interview. Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months. Endoscopy Techs work 4-10 hour shifts/week (40 hrs/wk), 0700-1730. Start times flex according to case volume - may be as early as 0600. Endo Techs share weeknight call coverage (typically 2 nights/wk) and rotate weekend call coverage as well. Unit Endo Tech # suites: 2 procedure rooms, 15 preop/pacu beds Ratios: -- Required Certifications: Tech-BLS Required Duties: Techs assist with procedures and scope reprocessing. Common Cases: high volume of inpt/outpt. EGD, colonoscopy, complex EUS, ERCP, stone management, EMR, stent placement-temporary and permanent, GI bleed, bronchoscopy, EBUS and ION cases Experience or 'Must have' skills: MUST: Requires strong proficiency in advanced EUS, complex ERCP and stent placement/exchange/removal and stone management PREFERRED: advanced skills for EBUS, ION Endo techs need solid, meticulous manual scope washing and handling skills, HLD skills in Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro, proficient and independent general GI skills for biopsy, snare, GI bleed, injections, lifting agents, banding, dilation with balloon or savory/Maloney dilators.
