Job Full Description

Our agency is currently seeking a skilled Tool Maker to support a manufacturing facility located in Bedford Park. This role involves producing, modifying, and repairing precision tools and fixtures essential to production operations.

Schedule

Monday-THURSDAY, 6:00am-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

Build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
Operate a range of shop equipment, including:
- Lathe
- Mill & Milling Machine
- EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine)
- Drill Press
- Surface grinders and other manual machining tools
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
Perform high-precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Troubleshoot tooling issues to support production efficiency
Document tooling changes, updates, and repair history
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams

Requirements

3+ years of tool making or tool & die experience preferred
Hands-on experience operating Lathes, Mills, EDMs, Drill Presses, and Milling Machines
Strong blueprint reading and machining skills
Ability to maintain tight tolerances
Experience with CNC machining is a plus
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
