About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Interventional Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Entry-level or experienced Imaging professionals License: ARRT (RT) required Certifications: BLS / ACLS required Must-Have: - Demonstrated knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. - Core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures. - Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases without surgery. This position is for individuals gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology. The role involves assisting Providers in performing procedures including cardiac catheterization, angiography, biopsies, and pain management. Utilizes a variety of specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diverse diagnostic and interventional procedures. Ensures procedures are performed safely and to high-quality standards, maintaining patient-centric care. Assists in preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort. Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures. Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols. Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding procedures and expected result timelines. Collaborates with team members to provide exceptional patient care. Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed and documented. Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and other maintenance tasks per regulatory guidelines. Assists with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as needed. Provides on-call clinical coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours as assigned. May support academic partnerships by engaging in teaching of students in relevant programs. May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. Assists with onboarding of new team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
