As part of the Foundation Learning and Student Support Department at our Openshaw campus, you will deliver engaging and creative AQA English Language lessons to Key Stage 4 learners, supporting students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will work closely with pastoral staff and wider support teams to help learners overcome barriers to education, improve attendance and engagement, and achieve positive academic and personal outcomes. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need: Certificate of education or PGCE Experience of teaching English Language at Key Stage 4 Knowledge of the AQA English Language curriculum Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation) Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above Experience working with young people with additional needs or challenging behaviours Strong classroom and behaviour management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education The ability to motivate and inspire disengaged learners Desirable criteria: Experience working within Alternative Provision, PRU, SEND, or similar settings Experience supporting learners with SEMH needs Understanding of trauma‑informed practice Safeguarding The LTE Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
