Dental Assistant

ForwardDental Forest Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. Pay Range: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour Experience Requested: 2 to 3 years Dental Software: Dentrix Practice Hours: Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Tuesday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of Dental Assistant experience and general computer knowledge. Experience using Dentrix is preferred. Work effectively with patients and team members from a variety of backgrounds Work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced dental office Anticipate the next steps in patient care and office flow after completing initial training Remain dependable and flexible when patient care extends beyond normal office hours More About The Role Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.) Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations Manage supply and inventory levels, and place and expedite orders as needed Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow What You’ll Gain Competitive benefits including health insurance, retirement savings plans, six paid holidays, and PTO Front‑loaded education and training, providing the opportunity to develop to your full potential Opportunity to be part of a secure company with 20+ years of industry‑leading experience that provides a stable career with unlimited growth potential Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment Required certifications: dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification, if required by state law Excellent communication and organizational skills Will receive regular HIPAA training and must protect PHI and maintain data safeguards Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience in a dental setting Experience with Dentrix or other dental software Dental assisting school certification Physical Requirements Perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation Prolonged periods of sitting and standing Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year Completion of a tuberculosis (TB) test for all new hires in dental office positions unless exempt by state At Heartland Dental, we’re committed to living our core values which promote diversity and inclusion.
