POSITION SUMMARYThe Chief of Staff provides exceptional service to our clients and support Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams on a daily basis. The Chief of Staff is a senior service level position for a Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams who is responsible for managing all business operations and overseeing the essential activities of all Support Professionals alongside their productivity. This industry professional leads the development, implementation, and management of the team’s strategic plan to ensure the alignment of team priorities and business goals. This dynamic leader will oversee all elements of the team’s client service model including but not limited to business development, marketing, and client relationship operations to help support the FA/PWA/team scale their business.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee team Support Professionals to ensure alignment on team priorities and business goalsServe as a coordinator for business matters related to the team, ensuring that they are directed to the appropriate contact, addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and track progress until resolvedCoordinate and guide strategic business initiatives to achieve desired results, including tracking the acquisition of assets, growth, and performance of FA/PWA/teamOrganize and prioritize critical issues and required information for Advisors to facilitate efficient decision makingSupporting the FA/PWA/team in enhancing new and existing client relationships through an exceptional client experienceProactively assess client service needs to determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual on the team to manageManage team client communications strategyWorks in conjunction with the Business Service Officer (BSO) to oversee such team responsibilities as interviewing candidates for hire, training team members and offering input on staff performanceEvaluates, and implements new services offered by the firm to determine how to integrate them into current service offeringEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:Education and/or Experience10+ years of work experience in a field relevant to the position requiredAdvanced degree or professional certification or prior industry experience requiredActive Series 7 (GS) and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) requiredWillingness to obtain additional licenses and/or designations as requiredKnowledge/SkillsStrong leadership skillsKnowledge of financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accountsTechnically proficient and quick learner of new and updated platformsDetail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritizeExpert knowledge of basic personal computer, MS Office (particularly MS Excel) and internetapplicationsExceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skillsStrong time management skillsTeam player with the ability to collaborate with othersAbility to work in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAdaptable and ability to multi-taskGoal oriented, self-motivated and results drivenReports to:Business Service Officer and/or Market Business Service OfficerTo qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
