Hours: Approximately 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Loan Assistant to support their Financial Aid team with loan-related administrative and customer service activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills, and be comfortable handling privacy-protected information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
• Review and assist with loan applications
• Assist students with financial aid applications and related questions
• Provide customer service and explain applicable policies and procedures
• Support the Loan Officer and Financial Aid Coordinator with assigned tasks
• Handle sensitive information including federal tax and Social Security data with confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good reading and comprehension skills
• Basic mathematical skills
• Professional communication with students, staff, and stakeholders
• Customer service experience
• Experience or knowledge in Financial Aid, Banking, Loans, or Veterans Administration is a plus

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a college or university environment
• Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures
• Familiarity with financial aid or student loan processes

Location & Work Model

Onsite - Franklin, VA. Free parking available. Travel rarely required.
Engagement Details

Contract position, approximately 8-12 weeks. Part-time schedule (~30 hours/week). Face-to-face interview preferred; Zoom may be available. Standard background check required.
