Position Overview and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, ultimately enhancing patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to the overall performance of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
- Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
- Embraces a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to enhance organizational competitiveness.
- Assists in staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Ensures proper inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Diploma in Nursing.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Preop/PACU environment, preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting.
