Description: The position involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients. Common patient diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out. Nurses will be responsible for interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Rapid response and code team intervention skills are necessary. The role includes blood product administration and central line management. Peripheral line care and PICC line management are required. Starting and maintaining IVs is part of the job responsibilities. Knowledge of managing cerebrovascular accidents and seizure disorders is essential. Experience with substance withdrawal and BiPAP/CPAP management is expected. Nurses will also be involved in non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration. Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols must be followed. Familiarity with telemetry monitoring is essential. Additional skills such as wound care, phlebotomy, and blood product administration are valued. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
