Transportation Sales Executive, Remote or Joliet IL

We are looking for a **highly motivated Transportation Sales Executive** to help build Spotter's direct-shipper freight pipeline.

This is a hands-on sales role focused on identifying freight opportunities, connecting with shippers and logistics decision-makers, and helping get Spotter's **600-truck fleet** into new freight opportunities.

You will work closely with our sales, operations, and pricing teams to identify qualified opportunities and turn them into **lanes, bids, pilots, and recurring freight.**

## Initial Market Focus

This hire will initially focus on **local work around Joliet, IL and long-haul freight leaving the Joliet, IL area.**

## What You'll Do

* Research and identify potential direct shippers with relevant freight volume.
* Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective shippers in the Joliet market.
* Reach out to transportation, logistics, and procurement contacts.
* Identify upcoming **RFPs, mini-bids, pilots, and truckload opportunities**.
* Help prospective shippers complete carrier onboarding and qualification processes.
* Introduce Spotter's **600-truck capacity** to qualified freight opportunities.
* Follow up consistently with prospects and move opportunities toward a concrete next step.
* Work with operations and pricing to determine which lanes Spotter can service and price.
* Maintain accurate pipeline and account information in our CRM.
* Help develop direct-shipper relationships that can grow into recurring freight.

## What We're Looking For

* Previous experience in **freight sales, transportation, logistics, brokerage, 3PL, or a related field** is a plus.
* Strong communication and prospecting skills.
* Comfortable with outbound calls, email outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting.
* Understanding of FTL / truckload transportation is a plus.
* Ability to identify and qualify potential freight opportunities.
* Strong follow-up and organization skills.
* Comfortable using CRM systems and transportation technology.
* Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to learn **direct-shipper sales and freight procurement**.

Experience with **shipper RFPs, carrier onboarding, TMS platforms, digital freight platforms, or transportation procurement** is a plus.

Success in this role means consistently building a qualified pipeline of direct-shipper opportunities and moving prospects toward **carrier onboarding, RFPs, bids, pilots, and awarded lanes.**

You will be measured primarily on **qualified opportunities and tangible pipeline progress**, rather than simply the number of calls or emails completed.
