This position is eligible for work in our Jacksonville, FL or Lexington Park, MD office.The Contracts Specialist will report directly to the Senior Contracts Manager and will serve as a key member of the Contracts organization supporting a diverse portfolio of work across U.S. Government (DoD and Civilian), commercial, and state/local customers. Work may include Prime Contract, Subcontract, Purchase Order, Task Order, and Cooperative Agreement environments.This role supports both centralized and decentralized procurement and contracting activities, including pre-award, post-award, audit, and compliance functions. The Contracts Specialist will work closely with Business Development, Proposals, Accounting, Program Management, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure compliant, timely, and accurate contract execution.The position includes cross-functional training and increasing responsibility within a growing contracts organization, with the opportunity for professional development in federal acquisition and contract administration.Responsibilities:Support solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, award, and administration of contracts, subcontracts, and purchase ordersAssist with contract closeout and termination activities in accordance with applicable regulations and company proceduresPerform price and cost analysis for firm-fixed-price and other contract typesParticipate as a member of acquisition and compliance review teamsExecute contracting actions across pre-award and post-award lifecycle activities, ensuring compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS principles and internal policiesAnalyze market conditions, pricing data, contractor responsibility, and performance history to support source selection recommendationsDraft contract documentation including memoranda, correspondence, reports, contract provisions, and supporting filesEvaluate bids and proposals considering price, delivery, technical compliance, past performance, and financial responsibilityManage assigned workload with defined objectives, priorities, and deadlines while supporting ad hoc contractual requirements and auditsRequired Qualifications:5 years of professional experience in government contracting, procurement, or subcontract administrationBachelor's degree An additional 5 years of data analysis experience may be substituted for degreeStrong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly ExcelStrong understanding of contract administration principles and acquisition lifecycle processesExcellent organizational and analytical skillsDemonstrated attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to independently manage contracting actions and support concurrent prioritiesDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, deadline-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience drafting and negotiating complex contractual instruments, including terms, conditions, and solicitation packagesU.S. Government contracting experience (DoD preferred), including familiarity with FAR/DFARS environmentsExperience supporting Prime Contractor and Subcontractor execution environmentsAt ASI, we understand that everyone's journey is different.
