Role Description This full-time, on-site 5 Axis CNC Machinist role is located in Richmond, VA. The 5 Axis CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and adjust 5 axis CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, loading programs, and monitoring machining operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The role involves performing in-process inspections, verifying dimensions with precision measuring instruments, and making offset or tooling adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. The machinist will also perform basic machine maintenance, follow safety procedures, collaborate with supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot issues, and document production and quality data.

Qualifications

• Proficient in 5 axis Machine Operation and Machinery setup, including tool changes, offsets, and basic maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in Machining and Milling of metal components, with the ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong Quality Control skills, including use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of CNC programming concepts (G-code/M-code) and the ability to make minor program edits is preferred.
• Prior experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing or job-shop environment, ideally with 5 axis equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, work orders, and standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies and production schedules.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and work assigned shifts, including possible overtime.
