Respiratory Therapist - Full Time Nights

Overview Respiratory Care is the practice of the principles, techniques, psychology and theories of cardiopulmonary medicine under the verbal or written direction or prescription of a licensed physician and/or under the supervision of a qualified medical director. Position Details Mercy South Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (will consider Certified Respiratory Therapists) Type: Full Time - 36 hours/week - 6:30p-7:00a Compensation: $20,000 Sign on Bonus Available for RRTs All Part- and Full-Time RTs will train on and be assigned to the NICU on a rotating basis. Key Responsibilities Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of a COARC approved Respiratory Care program. Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Holds the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room, PALS is required. Other Requirements Physical demands include push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 10 lbs, kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Use of all appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Qualifications Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Preferred licensure and experience: Prefer critical care experience.
