Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support core accounting and tax activities for a Contract position based in California. This permanent, on-site opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage daily accounting tasks with accuracy while contributing to corporate and sales tax processes. The role offers a consistent 8-hour workday schedule and is suited for a detail-oriented candidate seeking long-term stability in a hands-on accounting environment.Responsibilities:• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.• Reconcile and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are properly classified and documented.• Support the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in compliance with applicable requirements.• Handle sales tax reporting activities, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy.• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes by verifying balances and resolving discrepancies.• Maintain organized accounting documentation and support internal reviews or external audit requests as needed.
