Outside Technical Sales Representative

Responsibilities Identify revenue opportunities within customers’ communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed. Generate sales within the company’s established trading partners. Respond to requests from customers for information and give presentations. Prospect for and generate sales with new accounts. Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on industry trends and market competition. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned. Education and Experience Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field; 5 years of sales experience and/or equivalent preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent time‑management skills required, both in and out of the office. Strong desire to serve customers with a positive attitude. High degree of independence, self‑motivation and self‑direction in fast‑paced environments. Ability to think and solve problems creatively with attention to detail and to suggest process/specification modifications as required. Competent in delivering sales presentations. Understanding of budgeting and forecasting. Knowledge of product line profitability and cost structuring to provide accurate estimates and pricing. Cooperative teamwork to achieve established goals; excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational abilities. Basic computer and database skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Outlook. Physical and Environmental Requirements Sitting/working at a desk – up to 80%. Standing – up to 80%. Walking – up to 30%. Lifting up to 25 lbs. using proper body mechanics (lifting devices for heavier loads). Moderate wrist deviations and repetitive hand/wrist movements. Approximately 1–960 hand or wrist repetitions per day. Frequent use of both hands. Frequent word processing and computer keyboard use. Very accurate near vision (20/20) and accurate far vision (20/40) required. Minimal color discrimination and depth perception required. Ability to hear a whispered voice at 3 feet. Exposure to moderate, steady, and fairly loud noise levels below 85 dB. Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 80–90°F during summer months.
