While the posting is open for applications, we may not be actively filling this roll.The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating risk and making loan decisions based on existing underwriting guidelines and information and documentation provided in the loan file.The Underwriter will be responsible for completing the following job duties:Reviews conditions on files within posted turn timesCompletes underwrite on files submitted to underwriting for approval within posted turn timesProvides feedback on loan quality to the Underwriting ManagerMentors and develops processing staff and loan officersMaintains a unified voice with fellow underwriters on underwriting guidanceEscalates files issues not covered in our guidelines to Underwriting Manager for guidanceCommunicates decisions to all internal partiesWorks jointly with co-workers to respond to concerns of quality on files, such as QC, PETR, NOR or audit/clarification requests from different managers or departmentsStays up to date on changing rules and regulations pertaining to conventional and government-insured mortgagesMeets the required KPI standards for the position (6 units per day based on weighted scale)Training as neededThis job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; and nothing in this herein restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.The following qualification are required of the Underwriter.Education:A college degree with two years related experience and/or training. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside the provided range.
