About the Role

This is a founding Product Engineer role at a seed-stage startup building computer vision and AI solutions for the construction industry. The product automates blueprint reading, material takeoffs, and cost estimation — helping construction teams build faster, bid smarter, and reduce waste on housing, hospital, and school projects.

You'll join a small, impact-driven product team and work directly with customers to shape and ship core features end-to-end. This is a true 0-to-1 role: you'll influence product direction, not just execute on it. The position is full-time, in-office in San Francisco .

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end — from customer discovery to shipped product — on a weekly iteration cycle.

• Interview customers regularly to translate messy domain knowledge into clear, useful product decisions.

• Build intuitive UIs that make complex blueprint and hardware data feel simple for users accustomed to paper workflows.

• Work across the full stack: React frontend, Python backend, and related infrastructure.

• Act as a 0-to-1 architect and builder, taking ideas from concept to production.

• Apply strong product taste to how things look, feel, and work for end users.

• Shape product direction alongside the founding team — not just implementation details.

• Handle the operational work and "schlep" that keeps an early-stage startup moving.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• Demonstrated ability to build and ship full-stack features (React frontend + Python backend/infra) — open to all experience levels, including recent graduates.

• Experience owning features end-to-end, from discovery through production.

• Comfort running customer interviews and turning domain insights into product decisions.

• Strong product taste and user-focused design sensibility.

• Excellent communication skills and a growth mindset.

• Eligible to work in the US (US citizen or valid work visa); must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience as a founder or early engineer — you've built something people used or paid for.

• Background or genuine interest in the construction industry (blueprints, estimating, takeoffs, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $120,000 – $180,000 USD annually

• Early-stage equity (seed-stage company)

• Visa sponsorship: Not available — US work authorization required

Location

This role is on-site, full-time in San Francisco, CA . Candidates must be based in SF or willing to relocate. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this position.
