Board Member - Accounting Expertise

200 Orphanages Worldwide exist to raising awareness and funds to provide safety, shelter, and sustainability to orphaned children around the world. The 200 Orphanages Worldwide Board of Directors is vital to the continued success and growth of the organization. Board Members serve as ambassadors for 200 Orphanages Worldwide within their communities and professional networks, helping to raise awareness, strengthen relationships with supporters, donors, and volunteers, and advance fundraising efforts that support our partners and projects around the world.

At this time, we are particularly seeking individuals with accounting, finance, or financial management expertise who can provide guidance on financial oversight, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and long-term fiscal sustainability. Accounting professionals will serve as a valuable resource to both the Board and staff by helping ensure sound financial practices and stewardship of donor funds while fulfilling the broader responsibilities of board membership.

Board meetings are held quarterly via Zoom. Agendas and financial reports are distributed one week prior to each meeting. Ongoing email communication is essential for reviewing project proposals, financial matters, funding recommendations, and organizational decisions. Prompt engagement and responses are expected.

Board Members are expected to:

• Serve as advocates and ambassadors for the organization.
• Leverage their professional networks to help expand awareness, partnerships, and support.
• Participate in strategic discussions and organizational governance.
• Review financial reports, budgets, and funding recommendations.
• Provide financial insight and guidance to support organizational decision-making.
