Board Member - Legal Expertise

200 Orphanages Worldwide exist to raising awareness and funds to provide safety, shelter, and sustainability to orphaned children around the world. The 200 Orphanages Worldwide Board of Directors is vital to the continued success and growth of the organization. Board Members serve as ambassadors for 200 Orphanages Worldwide within their communities and professional networks, helping to raise awareness, strengthen relationships with supporters, donors, and volunteers, and advance fundraising efforts that support our partners and projects around the world.

At this time, we are particularly seeking individuals with legal expertise who can provide guidance on governance, compliance, risk management, contracts, and other legal matters that may impact the organization. Legal professionals will serve as a valuable resource to both the Board and staff while fulfilling the broader responsibilities of board membership.

Board meetings are held quarterly via Zoom. Agendas and financial reports are distributed one week prior to each meeting. Ongoing email communication is essential for reviewing project proposals, approvals, funding recommendations, and organizational matters. Prompt engagement and responses are expected.

Board Members are expected to:

• Serve as advocates and ambassadors for the organization.
• Leverage their professional networks to help expand awareness, partnerships, and support.
• Participate in strategic discussions and organizational governance.
• Review and provide feedback on project proposals and funding opportunities.
• Attend quarterly board meetings and actively engage in board communications.
• Contribute their professional expertise, including legal counsel when applicable, to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability.
