Senior Manufacturing Engineering TechnicianJoin Komatsu and be part of something big! This role is located in Franklin, PA and is an onsite position. The role will work directly with both domestic and global manufacturing locations to drive reliable and consistent manufacturing processes as it directly relates to manufacturing programs and global manufacturing engineering processes. Manage global process related to SAP programs and burn profiles, specifically the management of global databases of fixtures (in SAP), accessed by all sites globally; change database structure and elements when needed. Must have a thorough working knowledge of manufacturing engineering programs and processes to directly impact end results. Responsible for recording the manufacturing processes for fabrication and machining of parts, sub-assemblies and machine assemblies, with limited supervision. A thorough working knowledge of these processes is required to effectively document global procedures. Lead the training of operators at global KMC sites and suppliers in the use of new tooling, welding methods or fixture use. Lead the creation of work instructions for identified processes, engaging manufacturing, quality, and engineering with limited supervision. Lead the creation of routers, using fabrication and machining standards. Must have a thorough understanding of specific manufacturing capabilities at each location KMC location. Responsible for costing parts, using fabrication and machining standards and market data, for production in house, outsourced, and at best cost country suppliers. Design welding, machining and assembly fixtures to reduce manufacturing cost and lead time, and improve quality. Support Design for Manufacturability and Assembly - engaging with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain. Cross-functional knowledge of engineering, quality, and supply chain processes required to influence across functions. Predominant tasks include documenting manufacturing processes with models, drawings and text descriptions, creating and manipulating three-dimension drawings of parts to depict manufacturing processes, researching similar-to parts for existing methods and costs, researching parts, updating costing and routings in SAP, creating and manipulating three-dimension drawings of fixtures, processing engineering changes for manufacturing drawings, routers, programs, and work instructions, initiating engineering change requests for drawing detail, clarity, and consistency; working with design engineering to close issues.Qualifications/Requirements: B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred or 10-15 years manufacturing experience. Can organize, prioritize and track work requests from multiple sources from outside and inside the ME department. Written communication skills. Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally face to face, over the phone and in email.
