Transportation Operations Manager Job ID: 10458464 | Amazon.com Services LLC Location: USA, KY, Shepherdsville The Amazon Transportation Operations Manager has complete responsibility for transportation operations at multiple sites within a pre‑defined region of the country. The role requires proven process‑improvement skills, the ability to keep pace with explosive growth, and the capacity to motivate others in a deadline‑driven environment. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers at individual sites to streamline logistics. Ensure overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of the region. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals. Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; resolve problems; address staffing needs. Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning. Develop and share best practices across shifts and the network. Travel up to 50% may be required. Flexible to work a variety of hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of employee and performance‑management experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue‑badge/FTE) experience. Flexibility to work a schedule/shift/work area that includes weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of performance‑metrics, process‑improvement or lean techniques experience. Experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience exceeding quota and key performance metrics. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field. Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees. Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments.
