Jackson, Inc. – South Carolina Position Summary C.R. Jackson, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Preventative Maintenance Technician . This is a hands‑on training opportunity designed for someone looking to build a long‑term career in equipment maintenance. This position focuses on preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of company equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn in a team‑oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Receive hands‑on training in heavy equipment preventative maintenance Perform inspections, adjustments, and minor repairs on equipment Follow maintenance schedules and complete routine service checks Identify and report potential issues to reduce equipment downtime Maintain accurate maintenance and service records Safely operate company vehicles and equipment Work collaboratively with team members in a supportive environment Follow all company policies, procedures, and OSHA safety regulations Perform additional duties as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Ability to pass background check and drug screening Strong ability to listen, understand, and follow directions effectively Positive attitude with strong work ethic and reliability Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities Commitment to safety, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred, or willingness to obtain (clean MVR required) Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment Experience working with dirt and asphalt construction equipment preferred Technical certifications are a plus Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull similar loads Ability to climb in and out of equipment safely Ability to work on uneven terrain and active job sites Must remain alert to surroundings including equipment and traffic Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Willingness to work overtime, nights, and Saturdays as needed Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Holidays and Vacation Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability Insurance Supportive team environment with opportunities for advancement About C.R.
