Assistant Manager

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Interacts with crew members and customers using “Tropitude” (Tropitude is our “mojo” and what makes Tropical Smoothie Café fun and different and means having energy and creating a positive atmosphere).
• Provides leadership and verbal direction to crew members.
• Ensures quality product is delivered to the customer every time.
• Supports and works closely with the general manager through daily shift tasks.
• Assists the general manager with stocking & inventory counting.
• Delivers ‘Unparalleled Hospitality’ to each customer that visits our café.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in all positions within the café.
• Successfully completes the Café Basics Training Program & stays current on our online training platform, The Blend.
• Completes Serv Safe Class & Maintains Serv Safe Certification.
• Ensures each position is operating to Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s standards.
• Trains and coaches crew members during each shift to ensure brand standards are upheld.
• Enjoys working in team environments.
• Uses tools to accomplish goals, manage labor and control inventory.
• Performs any additional tasks necessary to run the café.

R EQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• A minimum of 1 year in the restaurant industry.
• Experience in a leadership role or position.
• Stable work history.
• Self-motivated and possess a strong desire for professional growth.
• Legally able to work within the State and Federal guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Continuous standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift.
• Constant face-to-face interactions with crew members and customers. ·
• Bending, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds to perform duties like stocking, refilling ice or taking out trash.
• Safely navigate in a fast-paced café environment.
• Ability to multi-task and remain positive in sometimes stressful working conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Most shifts are between six to eight hours, but this may vary.
• Assistant Managers can expect to have some early mornings, late evenings, weekend and/or holiday hours with additional opening/closing responsibilities.
• Lead Crew Members by demonstrating Tropical Smoothie Cafes core values in all interactions with team & customers
• Comply with the Tropical Smoothie Café uniform and personal hygiene polices for each shift.
• Fun, fast-paced, upbeat environment with no fryers!

Tropical Smoothie was born on a beach. There was no art on the walls, because we had no walls. The view was all the art we needed. That first blender was almost as loud as the surf. Fresh fruit came in by the basket, strapped to the front of our cruiser bicycles. Between volleyball games, walks in the sand and dips in the water – they lined up. And the smoothies poured out. We learned a lot on that beach. Most of all, we learned a better way to live. Take things easy, soak up the sunshine and be who you are. We learned the need to a getaway is not a once-a-year-thing – it’s an everyday thing. If we can inspire people to eat better and live better, if we can help the whole world feel a little more like that beach, then we will have done something pretty rad. That’s the idea.
