Senior Director of Operations

Purpose of the Job The Senior Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for production, distribution, and facilities management. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and scalable operations through strong people leadership, continuous improvement, disciplined budget management, and KPI‑driven performance management. Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties Lead end‑to‑end operations across production, distribution, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable execution aligned with business objectives Translate strategy into operational plans, priorities, and execution rhythms (daily/weekly/monthly) that drive accountability and results Establish and manage KPI frameworks (safety, service, quality, cost, productivity) using data‑driven insights to monitor performance and close gaps Partner cross‑functionally to align operations with demand, service expectations, and broader company goals Lead, coach, and develop multi‑level operations leadership teams; build a strong pipeline and succession bench Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and drive accountability at all levels Foster a high‑performance culture centered on safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and results Lead organizational change initiatives effectively through clear communication and disciplined execution Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles, process optimization, and root cause problem solving to improve throughput, cost, and service Own operating budgets and capital planning across production, distribution, and facilities; ensure disciplined cost management and investment prioritization Oversee facilities, maintenance, and EHS programs to ensure safe, compliant, and highly reliable operations Standardize processes, systems, and best practices to enable scalability and sustained performance gains Other duties as assigned Education Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field or comparable work experience required Experience Minimum of 10 years of progressive operations experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or a related operational environment. Minimum of 5 years in a formal leader/manager role. Demonstrated success leading production and/or distribution operations with measurable improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost performance Proven experience in budget ownership, KPI development, and continuous improvement leadership. Experience with ERP/WMS systems, operational reporting, and data‑driven decision making. Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training/certification is a plus. Works well with diverse workforce. Physical and Working Environment Typical office and warehouse working conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis. Stand/walk for up to 10 hours, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work around machinery. Work around moving equipment and machinery with moving parts. Distribution Center hours are generally from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM but may be adjusted in either direction to meet customer needs.
