Summary You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Nuclear Project Material Management Branch (Code 2305.6), Nuclear Material Manager Division (Code 2305), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Summary You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Nuclear Project Material Management Branch (Code 2305.6), Nuclear Material Manager Division (Code 2305), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties Help You will be responsible for managing, and coordinating the timely identification and acquisition of material required in support of nuclear production schedules for the project assigned. You will utilize information obtained from various sources and personal experience to prioritize the material related efforts of supporting shops, codes, and other activities for the project assigned. You will attend Project Management Meetings (DPL/SRV, etc.) to provide nuclear material status and respond to any emergent material concerns. You will recommend changes in resources or processes to ensure delivery of requisite material to meet critical schedule events despite frequent, unplanned workload or schedule changes. You will coordinate the assignment of Required Delivery Dates (RDDs) for nuclear material with the Nuclear Material Ordering Branch and project personnel. You will facilitate resolution of all related nuclear material problems for the project assigned. You will provide information on nuclear material status for Shipyard Commander Meetings, production meetings, and planning meetings. You will provide advice and guidance to various project personnel on resolving potential material problems and complex material issues. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications GS-09 Your Resume Must Demonstrate At Least One Year Of Specialized Experience At Or Equivalent To The GS-07 Grade Level Or Pay Band In The Federal Service Or Equivalent Experience In The Private Or Public Sector. Specialized Experience Must Demonstrate The Following Experience assisting in researching problems and provide assistance with minimum supervision. Experience demonstrating specialized knowledge of a broad range of material policies and procedures for procuring, receiving, storing, controlling, maintaining, issuing, shipping, and disposal of materials and equipment. Experience demonstrating practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties, uses, and interrelationships of material support systems. Experience communicating well orally and in writing in order to convey information verbally and by written reports.
