Assistant Fire Chief

Requirements

Completion of Associates degree in Fire Science, EMS, or related field, completion of firefighter and paramedic training, and must have at least five (5) years of experience as a firefighter, one (1) year as Fire Lieutenant or equivalent, and one (1) years as Fire Captain or Battalion Chief or equivalent preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


LICENSURES OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have and maintain certification by the State of Ohio as a Paramedic; certification by the State of Ohio as a Fire Firefighter II; Fire Safety Inspector Certification; valid Ohio driver's license and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy. NMS/ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800.
