Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and EPIC experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a 162-bed acute care facility featuring a Level III NICU and county-designated trauma center
- Care provided across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-Sections
- Night shift, 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
- Schedule is based on unit need with no block scheduling
- EPIC experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required
- Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- No prior disciplinary action on nursing license permitted
Additional Information
- Performs physical and psychosocial assessments considering age, cultural differences, and support for fetal demise
- Initiates multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Manages perinatal emergencies including crash C-section, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
- Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding, recognizing and managing abnormalities
- Manages labor pain control, including alternative pain control methods and epidural catheter placement support
- Educates patients and families throughout all stages of the perinatal period
- No radius rule applies; local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
