Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

$2815.20/week - Job Summary: The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to women throughout all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum. They collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety, fetal well-being, and comfort, managing both routine and emergency situations. Responsibilities: Assess maternal and fetal health through physical, psychosocial, and clinical evaluations. Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with interdisciplinary team members. Manage labor progress, including monitoring fetal heart rates and identifying complications such as abnormal bleeding or amniotic fluid changes. Assist with requesting and monitoring epidural anesthesia, ensuring safety during administration. Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, such as crash C-sections, shoulder dystocia, or precipitous labor. Educate patients and their families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including pain management options. Qualifications: Current RN license in the state of practice. Required a minimum of two years recent labor and delivery experience. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications. Demonstrates proficiency in fetal heart monitoring and emergency obstetric response. Familiar with Epic electronic health record system.
