Screens, tracks and monitors inmates with mental health service needs in general population and Restorative Housing. Involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health services, policies, and programs at the facility. May be involved with special units or programs. Serves as a consultant to Administration, Security, Treatment and Community Corrections staff. Provides in-service and other training.Enhances public safety of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia and Department of Corrections staff and inmates, by meeting re-entry objectives and by providing effective security, programming, custody and control of adult inmates in a major correctional facility.Minimum QualificationsGraduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Social Work, or equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in mental health supporting the ability to fulfill the required tasks of a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of VirginiaTraining and experience in the treatment of mental disordersDemonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans and provide individual and group counseling or therapyConsiderable knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practicesDemonstrated skill in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing and report writingDemonstrated ability to provide training to clinical and non-clinical staffAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writingAdditional ConsiderationsAbility to fulfill professional tasks of a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of VirginiaExperience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional settingDemonstrated ability to provide clinical and administrative supervision to mental health staffRelevant experience in program development, implementation, and evaluationSpecial InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
