Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Madison, WI | Inpatient / Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit in an inpatient acute care setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal and critical cardiac arrhythmias
• Float to other units as operationally needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules based on unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute care experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam; up to three attempts permitted under defined remediation criteria)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, including identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and heart blocks
• Familiarity with pediatric telemetry monitoring
• Experience floating across units in a fast-paced acute care environment
