Shipping/Receiving Clerk

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join a leading Company located in the Goleta, CA surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $25 - $27 per hour


Under the general direction of the Materials Manager; is responsible for carrying out Materials Management policies and procedures such as incoming and outgoing shipments and coordinating materials for production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Deploying the Policies and Procedures as directed by the Materials Manager.
• Deploy Shipping & Receiving duties using LEAN Principles to mitigate risks to PDT with respect to support continuous flow.
• Track and report key functional metrics KPI's as directed by the Materials Manager.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, segregates damaged items, records shortages, and communicates with purchasing to rectify damages and shortages.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Maintains inventory of materials as directed.
• Operates a forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to designated areas.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training in shipping/receiving is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in LEAN Principles, i.e. Kanban, consignment, demand flow and lean manufacturing in a make-to-order or make to stock environment is preferred.
• Forklift certified.
