Fleet Mechanic
San Luis Ambulance
Description The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for servicing ambulances, support vehicles, specialized equipment, and ensuring compliance with industry and company standards. Essential Functions Work on both diesel and gasoline-powered ambulances and support vehicles. Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Conduct engine, transmission, brake system, and tire service repairs. Maintain service records and documentation for all fleet repairs. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Pick up and deliver vehicles requiring service or repair. Perform repairs and maintenance on ambulance gurneys and related equipment. Utilize lifts, including two-post and drive-on lifts, for vehicle servicing. Use diagnostic equipment, transmission flush machines, and air conditioning evacuation tools. Operate pneumatic tools, grinders, drills, and other specialized equipment. Experience and Skills Minimum of 3 years of vehicle maintenance and repair experience. Experience with diesel and gasoline engine repairs. Familiarity with ambulance-specific modifications and equipment preferred. Ability to use diagnostic tools to repair computerized vehicle systems. A/C, hydraulics, and automotive electrical system repair experience a plus. A driving record that meets company policy regarding insurability. #J-18808-Ljbffr
