Our custom-built supervision stack helps handle the hard parts of deployment, from real floor variability to keeping work moving without line disruption. That supervision also generates proprietary real-world data that helps improve autonomy over time.We are a four year old startup backed by Khosla Ventures and a team of other great investors. Our team includes alumni from Anduril, Oculus, Amazon, Waymo, Skydio, Boston Dynamics, ASML, MIT, Jane Street, and Joby Aviation.What We're Looking ForWe develop custom servo actuators, compute, networking, cameras, sensors, and power electronics for our robots. These systems need to be performant, reliable, cost-effective, and tightly integrated with the rest of the robot.We are looking for a senior electrical engineer to own the robot's power electronics and power distribution architecture. This includes the battery management system, bus voltage switching, e-stop integration, precharge, cabling, motor inverters, and EMI mitigation.You will be responsible for defining requirements, making system-level architecture decisions, and taking designs from concept through bring-up, testing, and deployment. You will also work closely with junior engineers and external layout resources to execute designs.Some of the problems you may work on include:Miniaturizing motor drives by reducing bus capacitance and switching-stage size without sacrificing efficiency or creating EMI problemsDesigning the power system safety architecture, including safe startup, shutdown, fault handling, and battery hot-swappingDesigning and validating a custom battery management systemImproving motor inverter performance, reliability, thermal performance, and packagingDiagnosing and mitigating conducted and radiated EMI across the robotWe love engineers who have built systems they are genuinely proud of, whether that is a shipped product, a difficult technical project, or something they built outside of work.Required QualificationsStrong electrical engineering fundamentalsDeep experience designing power electronics systems, ideally in the ~48V rangeExperience with motor inverters, motor drives, or similar high-current switching systemsStrong PCB design, board bring-up, test, and debug skillsComfortable debugging power electronics with scopes, power supplies, current probes, and other lab equipmentStrong understanding of system-level tradeoffs across electrical, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and cost constraintsAbility to independently define technical requirements and make architecture and design decisionsExperience taking complex electrical designs from concept through prototype and validationStrong communication skills and ability to lead technical work across multiple contributorsBS or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldBonus QualificationsExperience with low-voltage power electronics for robotics, electric aircraft, EV subsystems, industrial automation, or servo systemsMotor physics and motor control experienceControl systems or stability analysis experienceBattery management system designPower system safety architecture, including precharge, e-fuses, contactors, and e-stop systemsEMI/EMC design and mitigation for switching power systemsExperience designing for battery hot-swap systemsExperience managing PCB layout contractors or other external engineering resourcesExperience with DFM, supply chain considerations, test coverage, and production bring-upProficiency in Altium for schematic capture and PCB layoutCross-disciplinary experience with firmware, embedded systems, or mechanical designExperience managing or mentoring junior engineersRobotics experienceCompensation: $180,000–$250,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
