L2 Pharm Tech - Central Fill

OverviewResponsible for performing technical and clerical duties as well as those functions within the definition of the practice of the profession of pharmacy, as defined by Section 465.003(13), F.S., under the direct and immediate personal supervision of a pharmacist (see rule 64B16-27.1001). These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining inventory and control of medication (including controlled substances), issue and delivery of these items, including locations part of the UF Health System, but separate from the main hospital. These duties are associated with providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients of Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Competencies required for Pharmacy Technician Level 3 must be completed and successfully assessed within 6 months of start date and at annual evaluation thereafter. QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:

A. EDUCATION:

1. Must meet all requirement of a Pharmacy Technician Level 2.
2. In addition to #1, one of the following requirements must be met for a minimum training or minimum experience in lieu of training:

a. 12 months of Shand's Pharmacy Technician Level 2 experience and completion of all required competencies b. 6 months of Shand's Pharmacy Level 2 experience and one of the following: I. Two years hospital pharmacy experience II Three years retail pharmacy experience 3. Successful completion of the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCB) 4. Demonstrate the ability to work independently 5. Demonstrate the ability to contribute to effective working relationships

B. JOB KNOWLEDGE/CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Knowledge of basic pharmacy services, professionalism, and duties
2. Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database management programs preferred
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Strong customer service skills
5. Ability to establish priorities and work independently without direct supervision
6. Ability to organize and communicate with a variety of department personnel
7. Ability to multi-task and operate in a variety of pharmacy

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a frequent driver Licensure/Certification/Registration: Florida State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration or Pharmacy Intern License required
