Discover new professional opportunities as a classroom aide supporting elementary students for the upcoming 26-27 school year. Located just a short drive from Asheville, these full-time contract positions are ideal for compassionate, dedicated individuals ready to make a daily impact.
Two exciting roles are available:
- Support an elementary student with mobility needs. This position involves hands-on assistance, including mobility guidance and diapering.
- Guide an elementary student who is blind, offering essential support and helping them navigate both classroom and daily activities.
Each role provides the rewarding experience of working 1:1 with a student, fostering growth and independence while building valuable professional relationships.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or classroom aide, especially with special needs students.
- Ability to provide physical support, such as assistance with mobility or personal care routines.
- Comfort with hands-on caregiving responsibilities, including diapering (for Position 1).
- Patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trust with young students.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, encouraging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized support in accordance with each student’s needs and educational goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure consistency in student care.
- Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
