Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Springfield, IL: The healthcare provider in the operating room setting will support surgical services for multiple specialties, including trauma and general surgical procedures, while maintaining required clinical standards and patient safety practices. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 Days, weekends required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 06451915; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years experience in the operating room; active Illinois license in hand or in application process; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) and Surgical Technologist (CST) credentials as required for the role; experience with general OR and trauma
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner experience
• Responsibilities:
  • Perform surgical support duties across all service lines except cardiovascular
  • Demonstrate required specialty case experience across bariatric, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management needs
  • Apply required professional knowledge and skills, including administration of blood products, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, and urinary bladder catheterization
  • Use required equipment/instrumentation/supplies experience, including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana tables
  • Support emergency/trauma response requirements, including code response, fire safety, latex allergy precautions, and malignant hyperthermia readiness
• Additional Information:
  • Level I trauma center acute care environment
  • Unit schedule and weekend coverage require presence across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts
  • Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
  • First day of assignment is a virtual at-home day; additional modules may be required and have strict deadlines
