Industrial Maintenance Technician

We're hiring an Industrial/Plant Maintenance Technician to join County Materials in Maxwell, IN. Job Summary: The Plant Maintenance Technician supports safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations in a fastpaced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate brings strong handson industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems, and works effectively under pressure. This position partners closely with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to meet production, quality, and workplace safety goals. The typical start time of this position is 6 am and they are usually working 8 - 12 hours per day with regular overtime. The pay range for this role is $25 - $29 per hour, with wiggle room for more experience. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing and production equipment during active operations Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Respond quickly to emergency and unplanned equipment failures to reduce production downtime Maintain compliance with safety standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements Perform steel fabrication and welding for equipment repair, modification, and installation Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively Weld, fabricate, and install machine components as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company standards Source parts and supplies, obtain vendor quotes, and install replacement componentsCoordinate and communicate with vendors and external contractors for equipment maintenance and installation projects COUNTY Core Competencies: The expected behaviors of all COUNTY team members that align with Our Values and Our Commitments: Integrity & Organizational Awareness Customer First Focus Results Driven Orientation Teamwork, Safety & Collaboration Problem Solving & Decision Making Creativity & Innovation Job-Based Competencies: Equipment Maintenance Mechanical Systems Manufacturing Equipment Production Support Welding Blueprint Reading Time Management Communication Safety Mindedness Experience & Qualifications: Minimum 2+ years of experience in plant or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment Strong hands on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, welding, electric motors, conveyors, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes Demonstrated ability to work as a self motivated, proactive, and multitasking team playerSolid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and production equipment operations Electrical license preferred, but not required Work Environment: Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards Work in a noisy environment Physical & Work Expectations: Sitting Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds Standing / Walking / Climbing Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder Safety Equipment: Required safety equipment: Steel-toe or composite shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, face shield, welding jacket, welding gloves, and more.
