The Field Technician will be responsible for installing wireless access points, electrified door hardware, access control panels, analog and IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), power supplies, cable pathway systems, and various structured cabling systems, including fiber optic cabling, twisted-pair cable, low-voltage cable, and coaxial cable. Installations are performed in both new construction and retrofit environments.

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling systems including copper, fiber optic, low-voltage, and coaxial cabling.

• Install network switches, wireless access points, and other IP-based devices.

• Install and support analog and IP camera systems.

• Install NVRs and video management platforms.

• Install cable pathway systems.

• Terminate, test, label, and document cabling infrastructure.

• Work with project teams to complete installations and commissioning activities.

• Track daily tasks and hours worked.

• Maintain clean and organized job sites.

• Learn and apply industry best practices.

• Assist with project testing and system commissioning.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Valid driver's license.

• At least 1 year of installation or related field experience.

• Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage systems.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in a Video Management System (VMS).

• Certification in a structured cabling system.

• Experience with access control, CCTV, networking, and security technologies.

Skills

• Knowledge of networking principles and IP-based systems.

• Ability to terminate and test copper and fiber optic cabling.

• Understanding of low-voltage electrical principles.

• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to mentor and assist junior technicians.
