Position Overview

\n

An established investment management firm is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Associate to join its Investor Relations team. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who wants to play a central role in the advisor experience by managing onboarding, supporting ongoing client service, and serving as a key point of contact for financial advisors.

The Associate will collaborate across Sales, Relationship Management, Trading, Operations, and Compliance to deliver a seamless experience from account opening through ongoing servicing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of responsibilities, and enjoys building strong professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

\n

End-to-End Onboarding and Account Setup

\n

\n
• Manage new separately managed account (SMA) onboarding from approval through funding and initial trading.
\n
• Coordinate account setup with custodians and internal teams.
\n
• Review account details, investment restrictions, customizations, and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
\n
• Proactively resolve incomplete paperwork, account deficiencies, and custodian or platform-related issues.
\n
• Provide timely updates and clear communication to financial advisors throughout onboarding.
\n

Ongoing Advisor Service and Support

\n

\n
• Serve as a primary point of contact for advisor inquiries and service requests.
\n
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve account-related matters.
\n
• Take ownership of issues from initial inquiry through final resolution.
\n
• Escalate complex matters when appropriate while maintaining a solutions-oriented approach.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely records in customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
\n

Proactive Relationship Support

\n

\n
• Anticipate advisor needs and communicate relevant updates proactively.
\n
• Follow through on requests to ensure complete resolution.
\n
• Provide context and insights to help advisors understand account-related matters and support client decision-making.
\n
• Build trust through consistent, professional, and thoughtful communication.
\n

\n

Internal Coordination and Process Improvement

\n

\n
• Partner with Relationship Management on strategic alignment and escalations.
\n
• Coordinate with Sales on onboarding and business development initiatives.
\n
• Work with Trading on trade execution and portfolio activity.
\n
• Collaborate with Operations and Compliance to maintain account integrity and regulatory controls.
\n
• Identify recurring service issues and recommend process improvements.
\n
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of workflows and standard operating procedures.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree required.
\n
• 3–5+ years of experience in asset management, advisor services, client service, or account onboarding.
\n
• Familiarity with separately managed accounts, custodians, and financial advisor platforms preferred.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and follow-through.
\n
• Experience with CRM systems and investment analytics platforms preferred.
\n
• FINRA Series 7 and Series 63, 65, or 66 licenses, or the ability to obtain the required licenses within the first year of employment.
